Jean Bartel Scholarship

Millions of Americans have answered the call to serve their country, and Jean Bartel was an ardent supporter of the Armed Forces. Established in Jean’s memory, the Jean Bartel Scholarship for Military Awareness is a $3,000 scholarship awarded to a qualified applicant who has demonstrated exemplary service to the men and women of our nation’s military. Guidelines for the Award:
The scholarship is available to women who have competed on the local, state, or national level from 2008 to present, regardless of whether a title was won.

Tiffany Phillip Scholarship

This annual $2,000 scholarship was established in 1998, in loving memory of Tiffany Phillips, the teenage daughter of Steve and Dana Phillips the long-term former Executive Director of Oregon. Tiffany, who unfortunately passed away in 1998, was both an outstanding scholar and an exceptional athlete.

Guidelines for the Award:
The Tiffany Phillips Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to an outstanding scholar-athlete that participated in the Miss America program during the current year for her state title (i.e. for state titleholders). All applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and be eligible for competition per the candidate contract. All applicants must be a participant of and demonstrate good sportsmanship in an athletic sport at the high school or university she attends. Additionally, she should be involved in an activity that benefits her community or campus.

David Allman Scholarship

Dr. David B. Allman was a past president of the Miss America Organization and the American Medical Association. In memory of her husband, Mrs. Allman established a scholarship foundation to be administered by The Miss America Foundation for the grant of scholarships to Miss America candidates who wished to enter the field of medicine to become medical doctors.

Guidelines for the Award:
The scholarship is available to women who have competed on the local, state, or national level from 2008 to present, regardless of whether a title was won.
Applicants will be considered for the award based upon a combination of factors including, but not limited to, grade point average (high school and college/university), class rank, MCAT score, extra-curricular activities, financial aid requirements, household income and level of participation within the system.
